Darren Bance
Senior Vice President, Solutions
Darren's role as Senior Vice President of Olive Group concentrates on client management and the delivery of all projects across the EMEA region for the highly successful Solutions division. After initiating the complex Integrated Systems Business, Darren has grown the division over 5 years to now lead a high calibre and rapidly developing team of over 100 Engineering, Project Management and Operations & Maintenance professionals. Together, they deliver valued services to the Oil & Gas, National Security and Infrastructure sectors across the region.
In 2006, Darren came to Olive Group from the FTSE 100 Capita Group Plc in the UK where he worked for 6 years as the Director responsible for the Technology Division within the Capita Symonds Engineering entity. This critical division comprised in excess of 50 technology specialists focusing on the Security, Telecoms, Intelligent Transport Systems and Intelligent Buildings sectors.
As part of his role, Darren managed large, technology driven integration projects, including the implementation and operation of the CCTV, Telecoms and Data Centre infrastructure for the high profile and thriving London Congestion Charging Scheme. Darren was further responsible for providing design and engineering services to the Capita Group Plc in the form of large scale and fast tracked, integrated technology solutions delivered by his Technology Team. These Group run implementation projects for the public sector were typically in excess of $200 million in value.
The experience gained whilst working across engineering and integration projects for both the private and public sectors has provided Darren with the unique competencies required to drive the Solutions division's remarkable growth. This progression was instigated by the win of a prominent and sizable security integration contract on Qatar's hugely prestigious Ras Laffan Port Expansion Project.
Darren graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff where he obtained a BSc Honours degree in City and Regional Planning.

Martin Rudd
Senior Vice President, Services
As the Senior Vice President responsible for the Integrated Protective Service Business Unit, Martin manages the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the business. Martin joined Olive Group in 2005 and was formerly Olive Group’s UK General Manager.
Martin has over 20 years of security management experience, in both commercial and public sectors. Martin has worked for a number of global commercial and academic institutions as a consultant providing commercial strategic security and supply chain security advice in the UK and abroad. In the public sector, Martin’s early career as a commissioned officer in the British Army saw him serving in a wide variety of staff and operational appointments, including logistics, bomb disposal and Special Forces. In his last military appointment in the Ministry of Defence he was the Programme Manager responsible for overseeing the management and procurement of over 200 equipment projects with a combined budget of £1.3bn.
Martin holds an Executive MBA from Imperial College London, a Masters Degree in Technology and Procurement from Cranfield University, and a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Kings College London. He was trained in Risk Management Consultancy at Cranfield University and is a Qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Tony Klein
Senior Vice President - Solutions
On joining Olive Group in 2010, Tony was given responsibility for leading the growth strategy for the Solutions Division. This builds on Olive's very considerable success in delivering integrated intelligent traffic, IT, telecoms, surveillance and both physical and digital security solutions to clients throughout the UK, the Middle East and India. With a team of Country Managers and Sector specialists, Olive will continue implementing effective solutions that deliver tangible capabilities and real business benefits to Clients operating in Oil and Gas, National Security and Infrastructure development markets.
Tony has worked in defence and security throughout his career. After a short spell in the software industry, he established (with colleagues) a systems integration / consulting practice which, after 11 years uninterrupted growth, was sold to Thales. He subsequently led the defence business of Detica plc and most recently was head of Business development for QinetiQ's technology solutions business in the UK.
Tony has a PhD in control systems engineering from Bristol University, an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

James Veysey
Vice President, Shared Services
James Veysey was appointed as Director of Human Resources at Olive Group in June 2009. In December 2011 he was promoted to Vice President of Shared Services, taking a wider remit within the support functions.
He is an experienced, multilingual and highly business-focused Human Resources and Organisational Development professional with a wide range of consultancy and management expertise. He has lived and worked in several countries holding a variety of roles centering on organisational improvement and leadership development.
His previous roles included those of Head of Capability Development at a large project management firm in the Middle East; senior Consultant in the Management Consultancy arm of EC Harris - a leading international construction and property consultancy, and Consultant for the United Nations. He has very strong communication and presentation skills, combined with a natural adaptability and diplomacy.
He has a strategic view of planning and implementation of organisational development programmes and has worked with many of the largest global organisations with particular experience in the security, construction, retail, and health sectors.
James graduated from the University of Bristol where he obtained a BA Honours, Modern Languages (French and Spanish) followed by a MSc in International Relations.

Matthew Davies
Vice President, Group Finance
Matt heads up Olive Group's finance function, responsible for all financial strategy, reporting and planning, tax and treasury across the Group.
Matt joined Olive Group in August 2010, bringing with him a strong knowledge of the risk management and security industry, as well as a broad range of financial experience. Matt joined Olive Group from G4S plc in London where he held the position of Finance Director for the Risk Management Division (formerly ArmorGroup International plc), which specialised in Protective Security, Training and Risk Consultancy. Matt began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, then taking on commercial and technical finance roles in telecoms, construction and media, before moving to the risk management sector.
Matt graduated from Exeter University, London where he obtained a BA Honours degree in French and German. Matt is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Liam Anderstrem
Vice President - Consulting, Solutions MENA
As Vice President - Consulting, Liam is responsible for strategy, business development, client management and project assurance across the MENA region for the Solutions consultancy practice.
Liam joined Olive Group in late 2006, bringing with him a vast knowledge in the risk management and security industry, in particular within the Middle East region. Liam previously worked for a security consultancy practice in Bahrain, where he had been the Head of Technical Services for 6 years. Liam has provided risk management consultancy, technical project management and bespoke security design services on some of the world’s most challenging and significant projects including work for GCC Governments, major property developers and multi-national companies.
His sector experience includes Construction/Real Estate, Oil and Gas, Financial, Aviation, Maritime and Tourism. He is a regular speaker at industry events, including most recently a series of keynote addresses on the subject of intelligent security planning in tall buildings and urban developments in Dubai.

Tim Roberts
Vice President, Solutions UK
As Vice President of Solutions UK, Tim leads a team of Consultants and Engineers involved in both technical and strategic systems design whilst also having responsibilities for strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Olive Group Tim spent 14 years as the lead Technical Advisor to the UK Home Office on the development and implementation of the strategic vision for a UK-wide vehicle movement monitoring capability. Tim has a wealth of experience in providing security advice, technical design, procurement and application of security solutions within the public and private sectors. This includes the technical design and project management of UK Government national programmes and high-profile security solutions for the UK Police Service.
Tim joined Olive Group after 18 years at Capita where he was Director of Security Consultancy. During that time, Tim built this area of the business from scratch into a best-of-breed business that was highly respected; Tim was Programme Director for the implementation of integrated technical security solutions at a significant number of major UK sea and airports. Tim was also the Project Manager for the deployment of the City of London Police ‘Ring of Steel’, which subsequently formed the bench mark for urban wide-area cordon security worldwide.
Tim graduated from the University of Kent, where he obtained a BSc Honours degree in Mathematics.

Dr Michael Knights
Director, Analysis & Assessments
As Director of Analysis & Assessments, Mike is responsible for developing and delivering predictive assessments to senior clients working in Iraq and the Gulf States.
Mike joined Olive Group after being a consultant on security issues in the Gulf States. He has been a regular contributor to business intelligence providers such as Jane's Information Group, Oxford Analytica, the Financial Times and the Economist. In addition to providing executive briefings to business decision-makers, Mike has lectured at both U.S. and British military institutions on Gulf security and was involved in briefing the USS Bataan Expeditionary Strike Group when it was deployed to the Gulf in January 2007. From 2003 - 2004 Mike served as a Gulf Security Research Associate at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Having worked with the U.S. Department of Defence, Mike has also undertaken extensive research on lessons learned from U.S. military activities in the CENTCOM area of operations.
Mike received his undergraduate and PhD degrees at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London and is the author of three books on Gulf security.

Ranjiv Kad
Director, SecureLocate
As Director of SecureLocate™ Kad is responsible for strategy, business development, product portfolio, research and development, financial plans and client relationshServices of the service.
Kad joined Olive Group from Capita where he was a Director, responsible for the programme and project delivery of many prestigious projects including the London Congestion Charging Scheme and the Lorry Road User Charging project. Kad also worked in Business Transformation setting up the Project Management Office for Service Birmingham supporting 55,000 staff. Previously a consultant Kad worked in setting strategy and direction for many start up companies.
Kad has over 20 years IT and Telecommunications experience having worked primarily for Royal Mail in road transport and information systems monitoring a fleet in excess of 35,000 vehicles and engaging objectives and work-streams over the full project lifecycle. This included complex contractual negotiations and financial modelling with measurable benefits achieved.

Kevin Hallatt
Vice President Commercial
As Vice President Commercial, Kevin has overall responsibility for Olive Group’s Finance function as well as working with the company’s operational managers to maintain commercial integrity by focusing on contractual issues, project profitability and financial controls.
Kevin joined Olive Group in 2008 after spending the majority of his career with Siemens Communications in the UK where he was commercially responsible for a number of divisions including Customer Services and Insight Consulting, an information security consultancy practice. These divisions turned over in excess of $150m through major outsource contracts with UK government agencies such as the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Department of Work and Pensions, as well as with international private sector organisations such as Ford, KPMG and IBM.
Having overseen the trebling of revenues at Insight Consulting inside two years, Kevin has the experience to manage the commercial requirements of Olive Group’s rapidly expanding technical solutions business.
Kevin graduated from Brunel University, London where he obtained a BA Honours degree in Mathematical and Management Sciences. Kevin is also a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Steve Sherwood
Operations Director, Solutions MENA
As Operations Director of Solutions, Steve has overall responsibility for Solutions project resourcing and associated people management as well as providing on-site project management and technical support services for consultancy and major integration projects.
Prior to joining Olive Group in 2007 Steve worked at senior management role in Siemens Building Technologies, Australia for 15 years. In his role as State Manager he was responsible for the general management of Branch operations involved with the design, engineering, installation and maintenance of electronic security and building control systems across numerous key sectors including Government, Defence, Aviation, and Transportation; as well as heavy industrial sites including Mining, Oil and Gas.
Steve has enjoyed a varied career from his early days in telecommunications while serving in the Royal Signals specialising in multi-channel networks and data encryption systems to serving with the United Nations Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) to providing technical support to joint military and civil aviation telecommunications facilities throughout Saudi Arabia.
As well as holding qualifications in Electronics & Telecommunications, Steve is also an accredited systems installer with a government-registered Security Agents Licence (South Australia).

Ian Todd
Operations Director, Solutions UK
As the Operations Director for the Solutions consultancy in the UK, Ian is responsible for managing the delivery of UK Solutions projects and for the associated General Management of the UK operation. Ian joined Olive Group in 2008 to lead the threat and risk assessment capability in the UK, a role he continues to perform.
In the 3 years before he joined Olive Group, Ian was Deputy Head of Security for Heathrow Airport, the world’s busiest international airport, an environment that continually presented him with challenges across the security spectrum. Prior to joining the commercial sector, Ian served as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment. During his 21 year career in the Royal Air Force, Ian served in a wide variety of staff and operational appointments encompassing armoured infantry, air defence, training and operational headquarters. In his final appointment, he commanded the Royal Air Force Regiment’s Rapier Ground Based Air Defence Wing.
Ian holds a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Kings College London and was trained in Security Risk Management at Cranfield University

Sara Bembridge
Business Development Operations Director
As Business Development Operations Director, Sara is responsible for supporting all business development and marketing activity across the Olive Group. She provides corporate oversight of the bid process and ensures compliance with Group policies and procedures ensuring consistency of approach and quality of output.
Sara joined Olive in 2008 from Capita Group Plc where she worked for 15 years in the Big Ticket Sales Division. Her role was to manage large procurements in excess of US$700 million from proposal through transition - examples being Congestion Charging for London, the Lorry Road User Charging Scheme and Criminal Records Bureau. Her responsibilities included management of substantial bid teams, including sub-contractors (these were often virtual teams located across continents), business solution development, the coordination of proposal development and contract negotiation with clients.
Sara graduated from the Plymouth University where she obtained a BSc Honours degree in Economics.

Dave Collins
Group Operations Manager, Services
As the Group Operations Manager for Services, Dave is responsible for the Operational Management of Olive Group’s specialist and high risk security operations in conflict and post conflict zones. Dave joined Olive Group in January 2005 as the Operations Deployment Manager. Dave was then made Director of Services UK where he was responsible for recruiting and deploying manpower globally for all operations and to plan and coordinate all operations
outside of the Middle East and North African region.
Dave has had a long military history with the British Army spanning 33 years, enlisting into the Parachute Regiment as a Private soldier in 1972 and being promoted through the ranks to Major. During this time he also spent 8 years with the UK Special Forces. He has held numerous operational appointments throughout his career and in more recent years commanded the Close Observation Training Advisor Team for 3 years and worked for the Cabinet Office as the Joint Intelligence Committees Liaison Officer to Baghdad 2004. He has also held various staff appointments and was awarded the Queens Commendation for Valuable Service.

Nick Edmunds
Programme Manager
Nick joined Olive Group in 2005 from an advisory post to the Government of Kuwait where he was responsible for developing turn key solutions on high value sites relating to the Kuwait Oil Sector. Over the past 3 years he has delivered several multi-million dollar programmes on behalf of clients globally, and is currently overseeing the delivery of a multi-year training and assessment programme for 2,500 Emirati Nationals on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Government. With an annual budget in excess of US$20 million this programme incorporates design, build and management of remote sites, technical and physical security, world class training and cutting edge Human Resource Management.
Prior to joining Olive Group Nick spent ten years as an officer in the British Army before embarking on a career in the private security sector in early 2001. He has worked with a number of organisations and during 2003 - 2004 was responsible for the delivery of US$70 million worth of security services to clients in Iraq. Since that time Nick has relocated to Dubai and coordinates a wide variety of infrastructure, training and security related services to clients across the Middle East and beyond.
